Beethoven's Early Period - Piano Sonatas 1-6

Mark Salman presented five lectures via livestream on the first six piano sonatas from Beethoven's early period (1792-1802). Mr. Salman discussed:

  • The work's origins

  • Its place among Beethoven's sonatas and other works

  • What makes each sonata unique 

  • In-depth analysis of the form and construction of each sonata

  • Insights into performance and interpretative issues

 

Following each lecture was be a performance of the discussed sonata(s), previously video-recorded in Mr. Salman's studio.
