Lectures and Workshops

 

Mark Salman is available for lectures and workshops on a wide variety of topics.

 

He has recently given talks on "Chopin's Life and Personality as Reflected in his Music," "Chopin's Stylistic Evolution as Shown by his Mazurkas," "Franz Liszt, the Greatest Musical Life of the 19th Century," "Liszt's Late Works - Anticipating the 20th Century" and "Interpreting Beethoven's Piano Sonatas: Exploring the Balance Between the Intellectual and the Emotional."

 

In 2016, he presented a series of lectures on each of the 32 Beethoven sonatas.

 

Other areas of particular interest include the works of Schubert, Alkan, Brahms, Busoni and Ives.

 

He can provide workshops on approaches to problem solving issues of piano technique, relaxation and tone production, and performance preparation and the psychology of successful performance, among other topics.
